Everyone note that these are extensions - you need a base unit for this to work

Solid price if you're in the Hue ecosystem already.

FYI it's also on sale at Amazon currently for $4 more. Woot is owned by Amazon but the return policy isn't as good so could be worth just getting it at amazon if you're unsure if you will keep it.

Good to note additionally, that a single AD/DC adapter supports three lights at a time.

Edit: Should also note that, there are 3rd party alternatives for the AC Adapter that can handle 4 Play Bars and are about half the price (less than $20) than the official one.

Would be perfect if it came with the adapter to power on. The Philips Hue Compatible 24V DC Power Supply is $35 by itself

From what I read Phillips Hughe white aren't that high-quality anymore. There's all kinds of better lighting including some cheap brands.

Ambience, yes. The play bars specifically are geared towards entertainment. They come with mounts to stand vertically or horizontally. The Hue system has an app for PC/Mac control as well to act as Active Ambient light to match whats on your computer screen.

Thank you for your response. I have the Hue hub and several other Hue products but I have yet to for out for the main, if you will, play bar. So I just need the hub, which I have, or the main play bar?
All Hue lights need a Hue hub. The only thing marketed as a "main" Play Bar is the kit that comes with the AC Adapter. No iteration of the Play Bar itself acts as a "main", itself to anything.

I'll second this. I don't understand how Amazon has done such a consistently poor job of managing Woot! since they acquired them but it is an extremely mediocre business now. I still browse them and I've managed to snag some really solid items but those are few and far between. There is little-to-no coordination between Amazon and Woot! for pricing consistency either so it is completely normal to find something on Woot! that is a higher price than it is going for on Amazon.

I never thought I would say this but I kind of feel like Woot! and AliExpress are comparable with the latter having a better online shopping experience and Woot! with faster shipping. I'll spend a little more to get a product direct from Amazon any day.

I have had a pair of these for a few years. Works well with Alexa. I think only paid around $15 each from Walmart back then.

Adds a bit of ambiance.

Just a warning - this is the "Extension". It doesn't come with a power adapter.

Meh.com is ran by the old Woot! people. It has a lot of the old charm, but they only offer one thing per day.

> but the return policy isn't as goodAgree, but oddly Woot randomly refunded two orders just for sending a request for a refund on them. Didn't even require me to send back. I was extremely surprised and I doubt it will ever happen again.
Not sure why someone TD'd you - that was weird.

I bought a TP-Link 5 port smart managed switch from Woot! last week - it was sold as new and arrived poorly (re)shrinkwrapped, and, although all the items were in the box, it had obviously been returned - I requested a refund and it was granted quickly, with no requirement to ship it back - I almost feel like it's some kind of tax dodge write-off for Amazon.

I was considering buying the 77-inch gradient light strip currently on sale on Amazon for $210 to put on my 83 inch Sony oled. Could I place two of these $36 bars horizontally on the bottom of my Sony OLED to complement the gradient strip? There's also a sale for the new 8K sync box for $208 with %15 off coupon:

Rather than buying two of these $36 play bars to place on the underside of my 83 inch TV to compliment my 75 inch gradient light strip, would it be better if I bought this $113 gradient extension to place on the underside of my tv?

The hue gradient light strip is much better for the tv than the play are. I'm speaking from experience. I have the hue gradient light strips for three of my pc monitors, 4 play bars, and one ambient light strip for my pc setup. For my tv I'm using the hue gradient tv light strip, the large hue play light tube, and an ambient light strip on the bottom of the tv. This is in my bedroom so the tv is mounted extra high, which is the only reason I added the extra strip to the bottom of the tv. Keep in mind the tv light strip has seven different zones on it, the light bars are just one solid color at any given time. You could certainly add a few to the tv area, but don't ditch the strip imo.
