The page says the Chameleon has a 'brushless
EC motor' is this the same as a regular brushless motor or is it marketing mumbo jumbo?

It's a functionally different motor that's more efficient (increased battery life) and, in theory, should have a longer lifetime than a brushed motor. Both the driver and the oscillating tool are brushless. This a great deal for two 12v tools.

I believe that there was a name change with the intro of the brushless version of the drill/driver. The brushed version went by flexiclick or similar and the brushless version was renamed to chameleon

Great tool combo for a great price. I would certainly buy if I did not already have the brushed versions, for several years. Part of my daily go to kit for various assembling and modifying and fixing tasks . Love the compactness and versatility. The 18v tools only come out for actual construction work …

Good deal. I have the chameleon driver for all my around-the-house work and it's a great little drill. It's amazing how far battery powered drills have come in the last 30 years.

I scooped the dremel blueprint (i love the design and challenging marketing)and it came with the "dremel super saw" and it is great but also opened me up to the Bosch 12v line. I missed all the badass deal last week due to an unforeseen massive expense. Gonna scoop this thing up as I hear the 12v oscillating tool rules.

I have the set without the oscillating tool for $99 from couple years ago. This tool (as with pretty much all tools from China) are essentially the same as the Milwaukee 5-in-1. The motor is powerful. It gets most of the quick job done I have around the house. For bigger jobs that need more time and battery power I have an 18V system.

The only downside is the pouch. It is utterly useless because while it holds the hand unit in place, all the different chucks will be rolling everywhere. There are no good places for bits, and the mesh pouch on the lid doesn't even zip up so the things inside will roll everywhere too.

While I don't have the oscillating tool, in my experience with the 18V one I think that tiny battery won't last very long on it.

The small battery actually does alright, but always best to have a second one charged and handy. After starting with the flexi click - now chameleon, I got all the 12v tools. Yes; the pouches are pretty useless. I don't use them.
As far as the milwaukee install driver; the bosch is actually balanced in hand and more compact. The Milwaukee is heavier, bulkier and has that knuckle guard looking piece that gets in the way.. and with the very rear grip, it is tip forward heavy.

True about the bag that come with any tools. Nobody going to use any of those bags. Either throw into the big box or carry all tools in a big bag.
