It can end up being pretty slick in the right circumstances. I usually only order from places that have BOGO or spend a certain amount and get certain item free. Those deals stack w/ the % off offers that are YMMV based on how often you use the service. Combine that w/ GCs 25% off and it can end up being far less than directly purchasing from the restaurant even w/ a decent tip.

Beware, Uber is terrible with giving refunds if your order should have an issue

If you bought one in the past 30 days, you are qualified for a price adjustment. $5 refund get!

Does not work via the app. Must do via the web. Most Cashback/miles back portals pay only for new customers. One of the airlines gives a lesser amount of miles (100) for repeat customers.
Yeah but are you refering to the portal with the same name as a popular bank ? And implying that it works on Uber Eats with existing customers?

This is a great deal for Costco shoppers, if you have the UE app.. most prices are slightly lower than Instacart. βœŒοΈπŸ˜€
Really? So it's a better deal than instacart even with Costco discounted gift cards?

In short, yes. Costco paused sales of Instacart gift cards (not sure if permanent). Even if they were both available, Uber Eats has the price advantage.. not by much, so both were great to have.

Note: it's important to connect your Costco account to UE or to Instacart before ordering, to ensure the best prices.

Still have so many of these leftover from last sale. UberEats does not give promos anymore.

They've actually been really good in my experience. The biggest issue is that the way to contact someone constantly changes in the app but that's sadly the norm for many apps these days.

Do not buy this Uber Gift Cards. They will rise you ride rates after you will add your Gift Card to the account. Check Lyft and compare prices. Lyft should be cheaper until Uber gift card will have balance.

Uber gave less promos after I loaded gc.
So Ive been taken Lyft.

Oh, for Lyft, how do I see how much I was charged for toll after the ride is over?
I can't find a way in my Lyft app (Android)

Uber Eats has definitely gotten more stingy with promo codes and deal stacking but it's hard to just pass on $25 free. Never know when you need an Uber or some impromptu delivery . . .this helps offset those costs.
I just installed UE and looked through the BOGO deals near me.

Yesh, 2 of the restaurants have a 62% rating on their BOGO dishes. One has 8 votes and the other around 35.
(One was a pulled pork place and the other was halal.)

But when I press on the rating, nothing happens. It doesn't expand to see details.
So customers can only do thumbs up/down? No comment option?

Trying UE for the 1st time.
I see a BOGO deal I like.
1st time coupon is $10 off but only for delivery.

BOGO stacks with it but Delivery fee $5.xx
So it's more like $4 off if delivery. Frown

Do they give coupons often for pickup?

Oh, how much do you tip the driver? 15% of the food price?

As a new member, and if you are using Uber One, you should see quite a few coupons early in the process. $30 off First order is quite common. Also the main coupon over the years has been 40%/50% off 3 orders in any given week (usually a max of $15 savings). I used to get these twice a month but it's been like two months since I have gotten it. I am getting 15% off currently. Uber One does a great job lowering fees. It's $10 a month but you probably have some free trial opportunities being a new user and maybe even your credit card will help offset the fee. I haven't paid for it in like 2 years.

Tipping is subjective. I usually tip 5 dollars, no matter the order total. I used to tip nothing until after delivery but drivers can see that you do that and will definitely drop your order thinking you are a non tipper. You have an hour after delivery to decrease your tip if you need to.

I don't look at Uber Eats as a massive savings potential. More for convenience. There is a particular Greek restaurant that is 4 miles away that I enjoy. If I order carry out the total cost is like $34. If I order through the same thing through Uber Eats, after fees and coupon it's $27, plus the $5 tip so $32. So I save two dollars and probably 45 minutes roundtrip (plus gas) having a driver do it for me. Not to mention it's on a gift card where I saved $25%.

Coupons don't really work on pickup orders, but you can still take advantage of Buy 1 Get 1 offers the restaurant may offer (which no longer stack with coupons) and pickup to save on fees/tip. I do that for a Burrito bowl place that's near the job and it's easy dinner.

Also take advantage of some of the grocery store deals. I've gotten 50% at a store up to $40 savings (so spend $80 to maximize). I'd end up buying bags of shrimp that are on sale, say 5 bags on sale at $16 a piece would cost me $80 in store but I can order through the app and after fees and tip maybe I'm spending $55 and not leaving my house or using gas (plus using a gift card where I saved 25%).

So yea deals can be had, but really if I can break even or better and have it on my door step I feel like it's worth it.

Yeah this. Uber Eats pickup is usually the same price as calling the restaurant up or going into the lobby to order takeout.
And where I'm at, my postmates / uber eats account doesn't prompt me to add a tip when I order. Combined with the 2 for one deals at some restaurants, it ends up being a steal!
I just did my 1st order on UE.
It was BOGO.. $18. I did pickup to save on fees/tip.
But when I got to the store, the price was only $12 if I ordered there. EEK!

So basically they raised the prices 50% for their 3 BOGO items.
The rest of the items listed on UE was 20% more than ordering directly at the store.

So did UE raise prices such that you Basically break even with the 25% off gift card?

Or did the store raise prices on UE?
