This is one of those games I enjoy and will always recommend, but have never gotten around to beating. Several people I know have, and really like this game, but I don't know a single person who has played through it.

I have and the ending is totally worth it. I've rarely felt as much satisfaction as I did when I finished this one. Incredible game and an experience I'd recommend to everyone.

You've got to finish it. It's probably had one of the most impactful endings of any piece of media for me. I get that not every game can be for everyone, but this is probably my favorite game of all time. For anyone curious, it's a space exploration puzzle kinda game where progression is entirely knowledge based, so the less you know going in the better. The first hour or so is the "tutorial" but give it a chance until you get to space. I almost gave up on it until it clicked. You've got to be a little bit of a self starter, a lot of the game is just deciding what you want to look into next and not being afraid to hit some dead ends. Can't recommend this game enough though.

I definitely plan on finishing it.

It's the best ending to a game ever, not hyperbole.

Yep, like others said, you should play through the end to get the full enjoyment out of it, especially since you already own it. Edit: Saw you mentioned you'll finish, sorry, still getting used to the whole new Slickdeals thread format.

I got 100% Trophies. One of the best games in history. Even better for kids education, to understand how the universe is evolving.

I played about 30mins and then I had no idea what to do. They tell me about a space mission but I could never find the ship to board and I just quit after playing hide and seek.

Huh. Probably worth a revisit.
The starting area is a circular canyon that spirals upwards, and at the top (inside the Observatory) you meet a character who gives you the launch codes for the ship, which you can then board from the bottom of the canyon, where you first spawned.
If you got to Hide and Seek, you were making progress. Each little area in the canyon is meant to teach you another of the basic mechanics you need for exploring. There's was a radio-controlled mini-lander to teach you how you fly the ship. Hide and Seek is meant to teach you how to hunt for quest markers using the radioscope, and basic jumping/movement. There's a zero-g cave to teach you how to move around in your suit, and manage oxygen and fuel. There's a danger area that teaches you how to spot hazards and obstacles. And there's a museum exhibit design to teach you how to identify interactibles that will have text and clues.
All that should take less than 20 minutes if you don't accidentally fall or wander off somewhere.
