From my understanding the 83B4 and 83C4 are the same except for 10% brightness booster and slightly larger bezel on the B series. This only applies for the 83 size.

The 83B4 is available on the partner store for 1620

Correct.
  • $1,620 for 83" B4 before tax (deal link)
  • $2,519 for 83" C4 before tax (this deal)

From Rtings [rtings.com]:
The 83-inch model shares a lot of similarities with the LG C4 OLED. It uses LG's Alpha 9 AI Processor Gen7, supports a 144Hz refresh rate, has three USB ports, and has a 2.2 channel speaker system, all of which are the same as the C4. Due to these shared features, we expect the 83-inch model to perform more in line with the C4. However, it doesn't have LG's Brightness Booster technology like the C4 does, so it isn't as bright overall.

It would be a rare consumer who would find $900 more value in the 83" version of the C4 over the 83" version of the B4.

B4 was $2000,,,definitely worth $500 more.
B4 is on sale now for only like 1620 and the 83 B4 is basically a reskinned 83 C4. Maybe worth $200 more max.

The narrower bezel may not be a big deal, but C4 has a different very glossy coating that enhances the contrast like other high end OLED TV. That couples with the brighter screen, which is the weakness of OLED, is enough for me to choose C4 over B4, but some may not value these differences and to them B4 is a better value.

Welp, I'm in, but the wife wouldn't let me get the free shitty tv which we don't need.

TIL employee purchase program is just a perk for employed people... so basically discrimination against unemployed! Cool. I thought it was more sophisticated.

Not sure anymore whether the bezel of the 83B4 is any different from the 83C4. From review photos they are identical. I am not sure if the gloss is the same too.

Note this only applies to the 83 size B and C series and is not applicable to the 77 size where the B series is a substantial downgrade.

Would it make much of a difference if it would hang in a dark room? Are those differences mostly from bright places?

It sounds like many people are on the fence between 83B4 and 83C4 sight unseen and relying on user or expert experience. The best way to determine if you can appreciate the difference between the 83B4 or 83C4 is to visit a Best Buy to compare. Put aside the fact that both units use the same processor, the screens are obviously different, both in the bezel size and screen reflectivity. The 83C4 EVO screen is high gloss and you can see clear reflections of objects and lights on the screen. The 83B4 has sort of a matte finish screen that has fuzzier reflections lights and objects. There is an obvious difference in brightness and clarity between the two screens based on my and my wife's opinion. We should give ourselves an opportunity to see for ourselves and not make such a significant purchase sight unseen. In the end, someone may not notice the difference or willing to pay for the difference, but you can be the judge. I prefer the 83C4 and am waiting for the next deal since the recent deal just expired

Seems like this deal is dead, at least for me. Starting price is now $3149.99 and the 43" TV is no longer free, though I don't want it anyway. After PERKS10 it drops to $2834.00. I hope it comes back. I really want the G4 or even G5 but I'll settle for the C4 for a big discount. I should have pulled the trigger while I had the chance.

LG discontinued the 83 inch B series for 2025, so the 83B4 is the last chance to get the C4 for the B4 price with a slight brightness nerf.
