For those that care... ive had every model in this company.. multiple headsets breakdown and stop working after a year.. some failures as soon as 3months.. I like this brand and the concept but having to buy and replace sets multiple times a year, even if warranty or free replacement ita been nothing been a hassle for the last 7years.. I keep going back hoping each new year model with fix bugs and issues in previous ones but nope.. bought open run 2 in Feb2025 already dying at 3hrs constantly no longer 8hr playtime like the beginning.. just be aware... after this pair I'm switching
I have the open move. I think they are great for listening to my tablet making phone calls and listening to podcast but for music I think it's lacking. I can wear my glasses with them comfortably and ride my bicycle around and have great situational awareness, but like I say for music, not so great.

Been using open run pro model for last one year. Good for talking but not music. No stereo or real music. I had paid $99 for it. No longer sold on shokz site as they have pro 2. Recently bought open run from Sam's club (normally sold for $129) for $54 on clearance. Some stores had same model for $34 but were too far to go pick up. I would still prefer to buy mini version as that would fit well around the next compared to regular size too loose and flimsy.

I am having trouble getting the correct price to come up after adding to cart.

edit: that was for the original post which only had them on the shokz site. It showed the sale price on the product sale page, but the cart price was MSRP.

Ordered from Amazon instead with the updated links.

55 is still expensive for a Bluetooth headset. Are there Chinese counterpart at ~$20?

It doesn't look like these are good for swimming. Do I have that right? New to this style of headphone.

FYI most retailers are showing the 140 price for the openrun pro 2 & minis, so pick your favorite retailer.

Would love to hear thoughts on the comparison of OpenRun and OpenMove.
I've had both, OpenMoves are great value for money. The audio is perfectly adequate for podcast and audiobooks, it's not bad for music but lacks bass. The OpenRuns have better fit and finish, longer battery life, slightly better audio quality, and better water resistance. Also, the band on the OpenRuns sits lower and closer on your head and for me, it allows me to wear them with me head against a pillow. OpenRuns also use a proprietary magnetic charger that I have found to be more of a pain than a benefit, I prefer the USB-C charger on OpenMoves. I have also found multipoint Bluetooth works better on the OpenMoves. If I was buying a set today, I would get the OpenRun Pro 2s, because I will use them daily and want the better audio quality they offer. If I was looking to spend less or was going to use them less, I would get the OpenMoves.

I have passively been interested in Shokz. Passively because I use an iPhone and AirPods Pro 2s that integrate really well with the "H" chip.

Anyway, I found this comparison review of the Shokz OpenMove and OpenRun. It seem legit, not some AI aggregated click article. There's a table with a quick comparison.

https://suretrekker.com/shokz-ope...omparison/

As a Costco member I will probably grab the OpenRun for the return policy, better build, slightly better battery and quick charge feature. I'm not an audiophile so I'm not sure I can tell the difference in sound quality. I wonder where the improves sound quality comes from in bone conduction sound? Like I understand better components or open designs in conventional headphones/buds. Is it primarily better conductive materials?

I will say at home I prefer my Koss on ear headphones like the Porta Pro to any in ear buds (AirPods included).

How do these work with sunglasses?

I love my shokz and have tried a few and here is my experience.

Very comfortable once you get used to them, takes about 30 days but now I wear them and don't even realize.

Shokz have been very durable, waterproof, great bt connection, fit amazing.

Great with phone calls, can hear clearly and so can the person on the other end. Works better then my stock car BT system.

Great at being able to hear sounds around you, if you're taking care of kids or out on a jog, you will be able to hear kids talking and traffic near by, this is the reason I use and love shokz.

The sound quality is best in the openrun series, there is subtle differences between 1st gen and 2nd gen but imo it isn't worth much, get whatever is on sale. I haven't tried the 3rd gen (pro 2) but I read someplace that the sound quality is worse?

My iPods and Bose in ear phones sound way better but you can't hear around yourself, it's a trade off.

When conversing or watching TV irl, you do lose a bit of sound because the shokz land right in front of your ears, I simply remove them from my head at that point.

Sam's club had openruns for $55 last month in store, ymmv

I got the ones from Costco. I do like them, the sound as expected was a downgrade from my jabras, but the tradeoff is being more aware of my surroundings when I don't want noise cancellation.

I will say that I wore them for a couple hours, and afterwards, I had a weird sensation for a while.

Almost like I could still feel a tickling vibration where the sound comes out of.

That's the only time I wore them for such a long time

So costco $80 openrun se same as openrun listed here?

I bought the bluez 2s back in the day. Use them for running several times a week and they still work fine today. Kinda wish they'd die so I had an excuse to replace them, lol.

Also bought the OpenFit Pro over a year ago and they're still going strong. Also have a lot of friends that own their products in between with no issues. Sorry about your issues, but I don't think that's a common experience.

I agree, we have about 4 pair of shokz around our home and they all still work great, no place for wax buildup, no foam pads to deteriorate, all durable plastic and rubber. The battery life may have dropped off a bit but still very usable for hours of play and a quick 30 min charge for additional hours. I am not sure how OP wears or uses his shokz but I haven't experienced the same

Would anyone recommend these for using at the gym? The issue(s) I can see with this is the band might be in the way if you have your back against a bench, do any pressing that goes behind the head, or doing sit ups and/or crunches. Thank you kindly!

These are great for calls if you work in a cramped office setting. The open ears concept keeps me from talking louder, which happens with every in/over-ear headset (except for wired ones)
