Yeah, don't think a dumbbell would work well. But an Olympic curl bar works.

These are super flimsy and made to be added on with heavier weights. If you left with just these tens on the bar they'll bend and fold over like pancakes. That's why I've only got larger weights 25 and above in bumpers and the rest I'll use regular iron plates since they're smaller diameter and don't touch the ground when using bumpers.

I had dbs with Oly holes but it was always super awkward, even with small iron plates. Full-sized plates would seriously limit your ROM but might work for a few things.
