AM4 is EOL
But I can save $200 and it works great. Then I'll buy an AM6 system at first launch in 3 years.

No joke. I picked up a Elitemini B550 for $39, and then paired it with a 5700g from microcenter. Toss in some cheap ram and storage I had had, and it made for a good little rig for some non-gaming family.

Exactly. Staying 1 generation behind on systems and 2+ gen behind on high end components is generally the best in terms of performance per dollar.

In terms of price versus performance, last gen is generally the best unless you're buying it for a specific task/game/software/etc ..

Hmmm...I hadn't thought of AM5 in 3 years. I'll see how close AM6 is to my budget then. Right now, the $200 savings makes a difference for me.
