If I use standard GPS settings and on-demand SpO2 instead of always on, I get 40 days of battery on a full charge and that's even without much solar time. If you're out in the sun a lot you'll get unlimited battery.
Btw an essential accessory IMO are some of the USB-C to Garmin adapters from Amazon, which will let you charge this thing with any standard USB cable.

You can also get small rubber covers for the charge port to keep it clean. Like these (I didn't use this listing personally but they look right):

I also recommend these to protect the glass:

Fit great and almost no impact on solar charging. Garmin says using a protector may void your warranty, which is some BS btw Garmin if you're reading.
Make sure you put the latest firmware on, it's pretty decent now. Older firmware has lots of bugs. You can do it via the app.

It is larger, it has a bigger battery, it has a flashlight built in.

It's worth pointing out that the 2x has a ton of improvements over the Instinct 2 beyond just a larger screen. Garmin will typically use these screen changes to do a "mid-cycle refresh" of their watches.
From the review:
– Increased display size from 0.9" to 1.1"
– Increased solar panels by 50% compared to Instinct 2 Solar
– Massively increased battery claims/specifications (see battery chart)
– Added screws to front case
– Added multiband/dual-frequency GPS/GNSS
– Added flashlight/torch, both white and red light, plus strobe options (like Fenix 7X or Enduro 2 series)
– Added Training Readiness suite of metrics (like Fenix 7 series)
– Added solar lux hour tracking metric (like Fenix 7 series)
– Added Morning Report (like other Garmin watches)
– Adding obstacle course racing activity profile in near-term update (like Fenix 7 series, also now in Instinct 2 public beta)
– Adding Boxing and MMA Activity Profiles in the next quarterly update
I haven't tried the 90 degree version, but I would be cautious about it because I don't see how you can plug that into this watch and not have your USB cable fighting with the watch straps, whereas that doesn't happen with the straight adapter. On the 2X (this watch) the charge port is in line with the straps. I can see how it would work on some other models where the port is on the side, but that's not the case here.
