I am going to say its the best out there under $3500..maybe even $4K

To be fair, anywhere near $2k that would be a no brainer.
The 6800 offers several features over this.
Might not be a fair comparison imo.

What store sells the Denon 6800 at a sub $2000 price? I have not found any.

Gene is the man! Miss Hugo, though!
There is a better amp/power supply in the Onkyo than the Denon X6800 .The Onkyo comes with a Dirac license and capable calibration mic ( about $400) at no charge
Coming from someone who has personally owned multiples of both brands I could care less about the brand
Its all about performance and feature set for the price and I HIGHLY prefer Dirac to Audyssey

In my experience I would disagree.
At this level the better amp/power supply is not an audible benefit.
Not to mention many people at this level understand relying on the internal amps is not ideal.
External amps are a much more ideal option imo.
There are several features on the 6800 that this can't meet, like processing 13 channels & extra two independent sub outs to name a few… not a direct competition imo.
Here is a comparison of the rest.
Many many people on AVS forum(& counting) are quickly finding out Dirac is no longer as big a benefit with Denon/Marantz owners with the advent of A1EVO!
It's quickly becoming a game changer especially since you don't lose subwoofer correction/integration.
You would have to add DLBC to this which is another $300!
Thats a lot of performance for the extra $150+ in my experience.

EDIT: I've seen LX805 as low as $1400 on SD. LX805 also includes Dirac Live for free

I highly value the better amp/ power supply. Depending on what I would need now and in the future , it may prevent me from having to purchase a separate amp
I personally dont need more than 9 channels and I find that to be the case with home systems that I have seen
I really dont see AVS members moving from their preference for Dirac over Audyssey at all
I would also be in that same mindset
So, I would have to plan on buying the Dirac license and accessories as an added expense if I purchased a Denon/Marantz product
But again, I understand you have you own opinion

In my opinion, its an absolute steal for that money

You might be thinking of the RZ50, this has 11 internal amps like the 805.
There are a few slight feature differences between the two, audibly unlikely to hear much of one in my experience.
You might be waiting a while for the 805 to hit that price again, hasn't come close since and not looking promising here these next few years.
BTW the RZ50 gives you almost all this offers especially when using the pre outs which you would need to.
The RZ50 has gotten down to $750, that's a big pill to swallow imo.
Here is a comparison of the two.

Someone's preference is non debatable, that's a personal opinion choice.
I was merely pointing out feature set wise, they are not a direct competition.
Regarding room correction performance, you no longer need Dirac with Denon/Marantz for the same performance.
Especially when you consider the cost.
That quickly becoming the mindset even over on AVS!
From personal experience I would agree with that AVS mindset!
It's a nice bonus knowing you have the choice if you decide you want Dirac & not have to give up on your preference!

Well technically feature wise it's a fact, I provided the comparison.
Room correction, not my opinion it's AVSs, I'm just agreeing with them.
