I rather get 256GB for $449. I always keep my personal back up on external hard drives, and they are accessible through my personal home server, I'm never stored data on my devices.

Would be a whole different story if this were the 24GB + 512GB config.. but yeah, $450 for the 16/256GB m4 mini is A LOT of value for the money.

Agree, I rather have 24GB RAM than extra 256GB storage. My current macbook pro has 32GB and is always around 20GB RAM usage with 10 chrome tabs open.

I got a 256 at about 450, replaced SSD with a 2TB SanDisk one from AliExpress for about 150. All in 600$ for a 16GB RAM and 2TB Mac mini

. The SSD replacement took 10-15 min and is fairly simple if you are a bit careful and watch a how to video first.

Ah yes, the new SSD is about twice as fast in all benchmarks compared to the apple one.
