That doesnt make any sense.. So youre saying refined avocado oil is blended with other oils other than avocado oil?
They are just having a bad day. if anything, refined technically has more oil in it, as refining just removes "impurities" etc. Unfortunately is also removes the character and notes.
Refined= the giant perc jug of "coffee" at the old truck stop, it gets the job done.
unrefined = "hey Bill's down the street always has really good coffee in the spring for some reason"

So is this healthier for cooking than other oils or no?
Its a high temp unsaturated fat cooking oil. So if you dont want to use canola oil, and your olive oil browns, and you dont want to use sat fat coconut oil, this avocado oil is great.
If you're buying a cooking oil for a high smoke point, refining will enhance that property. Yes it will decrease complex flavor, but at high heat those will become "off" flavors once the oil begins to smoke. So you can keep another bottle of less refined oil for dressing salads and such.
HHS just banned all seed oil (vegetable, canola, grape seed etc.) in school lunches. Those oil contain high levels of Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio (because of high heat and chemical used in extraction) which causes all sort of health problem. It's hard to tell what "refined" means in this oil. If it means using high heat and chemical to extra the last bit of oil, it's not for your health. Avocado oil naturally has high smoking temp point, so it's good for cooking or frying. But one should always try to get cold pressed / virgin avocado oil. The same applies to olive oil.

that makes no sense. how are companies supposed to get those kids morbidly obese and used as guinea pigs for new diabetes meds?

They are phasing out food dyes in school lunches, not seed oil. I wish they were phasing out seed oil. But the reality is it would cost a fortune to replace cheap canola oil with avocado oil. Not to mention there probably isn't enough avocados in the entire world to even replace the canola oil used in U.S. school lunches.
