The garbanzo bean deal was better. I almost never see garbanzo beans that cheap.

Pinto beans on the other hand should be available at a similar price in bulk at Walmart, Sam's Club, or Costco. Like this 8 pound bag that should come out to $0.86/lb. I think I saw it on the shelf in my local store and not just online but I didn't examine it closely.

Or a 20 pound bag for about $0.75/lb.

I can only add it as an Amazon Fresh/Grocery item that requires a $100 minimum for free delivery, and cannot check out as a regular merchandise. My shopping cart doesn't have any other items.

Prices noted, thank you. Question: aren't many products cheaper per unit when purchased in larger size/quantity? Wouldn't a comparison to 1lb from the local market be a more fair comparison?

The U.S. produces a lot of pinto beans, so you can avoid tariffs which are what will mainly drive inflation in the short term. Hopefully Congress takes back this power through new legislation, so a president can't simply declare an emergency and place tariffs / taxes on imports.
