I'm not a golfer, but I was thinking about these for someone who is. Are the personalized ones something that would be a nice touch or is that kind of cheesy?

I am a golfer.
Never had an interest in personalized golf balls unless you are advertising a business or corporate event. Spouse bought me some with my initials on them years ago and I was a bit embarrassed to use them as the font was very large. If you do personalized, choose a small font and simple message or just initials. Something they would recognize but isn't so big it is all you see on the ball.
Also, some people get really silly with golf balls. Before you go through the expense of personalization you may want to ask about their preference. Some people like me will hit just about anything I find on the course. Others only play with specific balls.

Thanks for the feedback. Nice TalkingYou pretty much confirmed what I was thinking. I believe I will stick with plain ones for now

I wouldn't pay more for personalization but for same price it's worth it. Play with similar groups regularly and put nickname or inside joke on them. Soft fli is my choice as I am not scratch

If you're buying these balls for a man you might want to reconsider. The softflis are super low compression and likely won't play well for anyone outside of a high handicap woman or senior male
