Does this not have an air filter? Otherwise, it can clog and degrade.

Isn't this just a Peltier device? Doesn't seem like it would be very efficient.

My thoughts exactly a proper dehum needs a compressor to work properly. I would avoid this.

What is the ideal relative humidity in house?
Mine is usually around 70%, do I need one?

How is this smart? It seems to have the same sensors to set a maximum humidity for instance

that is too high (supports mold growth, which is bad for health). aim for closer to 50-55. look at the Hisense posted here earlier today

I've never seen a dehumidifier with a filter, and I've had half a dozen of them over the past 35 years. The filter would impede air flow, it would ice up, and the humidity would make the filter get moldy quickly.

Same. Maybe these exist but not on the 5 I've bought over the years which never clog.

On the contrary. I've owned 5 bigger ones than the one posted here and all of them have washable air filter inserts. the bigger ones also have drain hose and some have pumps that can expel the water vertically up walls. I'm running 3 right now. 2 in the basement and 1 upstairs.

They usually have reminders to clean them and last a long time between each clean.

here's an example
