I have this chair. It's ok. I wouldn't take it backpacking due to size and weight. It's a good chair to bring to the park and festivals where low chairs are required.
I've used plastic training golf balls with a small hole cut it for the feet. Pop right on the foot. Works great. Increases your surface area ratio so you don't sink in to loose ground material like sand or soft dirt

that's why. This is made out of inferior materials. Cheaper to make….
I wish Walmart got back into the backpacking knock off game again. I still have ozark down sleeping bags that were $25 and are similar specs to name brand. Also have an ozark one person ultralight tent that is exact knock off of REIs that weighs under 3lbs and was only around $30.

This chair is okay on solid ground, but if your soil is at all loamy or loose the legs will sink in because the feet aren't very wide.

I had this. Its painted steel instead of aluminum like you might be thinking it is. So it weighs 3x as much as competitors. The feet are also tiny and I lost a couple in the dirt, and the shockcord broke pretty quickly. It also positions you weird compared to the other chairs I tried. I was almost happy when it broke, and have since replaced it with a true ultralight one from Sierra that was on sale for $40. Way more comfortable and way smaller and lighter.
When I'm not actually hiking anywhere (like music festivals) I take a more robust chair that is super comfortable. There is no real situation where I'd want this walmart one again.
i have these chairs, got them on clearance last year. Not a backpacking chair due to the weight, but works for car camping, festivals, kids sports ball games.

So this isn't a great deal. They are great for sticking in the back of the car but not for backpacking.
