Just a heads up, I've gone through two brand new usb c gen 2 controllers. I really enjoyed them while they worked. They both stopped working after about a year. The first they replaced under warranty. I doubt they'll replace this second. Unfortunate that it doesn't hold up. I assume it's something with the physical connection that's going bad.
I have the usb-c backbone one and I used it with an iPhone 16Pro. I had two main use-cases:
1) use for on-device iOS games: retro games PPSSPP, arcade mania, retro arch, delta. Works good for this.
Unfortunately, controller support for games on iOS is hit or miss. Check App Store if the game you want to use it with. One notable is brawl stars did not work.
2) steam link, then I switched to moonlight/sunshine. And recently switched to moonlight/apollo. Works amazing for this too
I found backbone one is okay for short gaming sessions, anything long my hand was cramping because it's so compact. I recently went to Kishi Ultra (refurb) and it's got same game comparability drawbacks as the One, but much more comfortable at the expense of sheer size. I don't think I'll be keeping my Backbone One
