I have a 9000 or 12000 btu 110v costway one without wifi that i installed myself. I am a step or 2 above a handyman and a step or 2 below a licensed contractor.

Some negatives: I am assuming the remote is the thermostat and is around 6-7 degrees off. I live 30 minutes ne of atlanta. This thing will not keep up for heat in January. With that said, I live in a 900 sq A frame from the 70s with single pane windows. Lastly the 60 degree minimum kind of stinks. Because I think its trying to run more at 66.

Mine does not have wifi so I cant comment on that.

As far as the ac goes, its awesome. It costs almost nothing to make it feel like it should snow inside.

My guess is under $1 a day to keep it cold, more like $3 a day to keep it warm.

All of this assumes this is the same as the rebranded costway ones. Almost 2 full years and no issues.

What is this? A bed for ants?

Or the worlds largest mini-split?

Most homes in USA are all the central air duct. This ductless things are very common in Asia countries, not sure about other regions.

I am curious why.

Is the photo of this thing real? it looks insanely big next to the bed. Feels like a bad photoshop job. If it is this big... i guess you get a lot more than you paid for, or wanted?

An important caution here.

These are labeled "air conditioner", but normally an air conditioner mini-split only provides cooling. It doesn't heat.

Units that heat and cool are described as "heat pumps".

From the description it is clear that this heats, but if you are looking at other mini split "air conditioners" you might be looking at a unit that doesn't heat. The cooling only units lack a complex valve and are usually $50 or $75 cheaper.

I installed one in my garage. Works great, comes with App controls and integration to Smartthings, Google Home or Alexa. My full Detailed DIY video https://youtu.be/IPlJrxOocC0

I just finished installing the 12,000 BTU unit 115 volt. Overall it's very good. Here's a link to my YouTube review and the installation. I had a neighbor vacuum the lines so I didn't even have to buy a vacuum. It does provide heat like a heat pump too. https://youtu.be/hYYoWePYU1A

That's not how temu works. All of this stuff is US warehouses. It's same as Amazon except without rip off prices.

Amazon sells fire hazard junk too

How the buildings are constructed. US uses a lot of wood and sheetrock. Almost everywhere I go in Asia the buildings are made of cinderblock. You can run ductwork behind sheetrock, you would end up wasting a ton of space trying to run ductwork 'hidden' in cinderblock construction. Overall it is cheaper to buy several of these units and hang them on a wall, than to build in central air in most buildings.

Just noticed this:

> pre-charged with eco-friendly R32 refrigerant (also supports R410A)

Is it possible?
Sure, if you want to purge the system and put another coolant in.
