Seems like a good deal considering that just one 40V 4AH batteries with a charger normally run about a hundred and twenty five bucks by themselves.

They are not. But consider this. Just one 4Ah 40V Ryobi battery w/charger is going to cost you $125 almost anywhere you look, so considering that, you're getting the tools for almost nothing. They aren't brushless, but its still a super deal.

I signed up for free shipping code via text and email reg and it charged me $7.50 for shipping. But knocked off an additional $15 from the initial sub-total.

$133 shipped.

I already previous had an account.

If you can pick up in store, this is an even better deal:

We have the brushless 40V Expand-It and love it.

I've been using mine for years. I love it. Getting the different attachments is convenient also

For $40 more you can get the expand-it version, not brushless.

What was the code? What it a unique code? I don't get a pop up for free shipping.

It's unique, with "NEW-xxx-xxx". Random characters after NEW.

I've had two of the non-brushless expand it weed eaters motors burn out. I upgraded to the brushless version and no issues with the brushless one.

Isn't that the point of the brushed motors is that you can easily replace the brushes

Good point. Most tools you can swap out brushes with a butterknife, maybe even your fingernail. I've done it with drills I've owned in the past. Brush availability is the bigger problem but when you find them, they cost next to nothing & are usually just covered with plastic caps that you quarter or half turn off. Power tools have been using brushed motors since the 80's. I've had many tools last years and years and years without problem. This notion that brushed motors are complete garbage just isn't the case. Brushless are newer, are certainly better, last longer and more efficient, but dismissing brushed motors like they are outdated garbage from the stone age is kind of extreme. Especially when you can find them deeply discounted.

I've had this kit for a few years now and the "auto feed" on the weed eater is absolute garbage. It's supposed to auto feed when you let off the trigger. I always find myself sitting there re-engaging the trigger for what feels like minutes.
The blower is pretty good though.
