I own three of these. One arrived DOA, a refurb direct from Klipsch . I was given a full refund and advised to throw it away...

So I bought a replacement amp on eBay for $150.

In my opinion, these are worth the gamble.

Another option is to replace the amp with a Dayton audio plate amp, which then opens up an entire world of woofer replacements, because the cabinet is an excellent donor.

I don't have use for another one, but I wish I did at this price.

Really great sub in my book at the $500 price range. This price is worth the gamble. The 15" was a serious contender, unlike the rest of this generation's smaller sizes.

How do you know when an amp fails? Does it stop working? I don't have a sub now. Looking for one.

I've had 2 SVS sb12 nsd fail on me. Never had a speaker or external amp fail.

Definitely going to pass on this. I have bad luck with subs.

It's funny how these threads always have the same people bitching about the amp thing.
When did this become a review site vs posting deals?
Thanks to OP for posting the deal! Even in the odd case of the amp fails, this is a tremendous price for a pretty killer sub.

I am usually not one to harp on stuff. I love these these. I got 2 at frys and my co worker got 4. 5 of them had the amps fail. We got replacements for 4 of them before warranty ran out. Keep in mind, we bought them like 6-8 years ago. I dont recall. Out of 6 though... 5 died...

I slill love the lows they hit =) that being said.

We got them SOOO cheap with the wireless transmitters we went full dummy buying them.

I had two of these and both stopped working after 4 years. Waiting for the last 6 months for amp to be delivered but its not available. They're charging me around $250 for each amp. In the meantime I got the 16 inch klipsch which is working very good and has five year warranty. Any suggestions what to do with my old woofers?
