Its still light, not at all useless just because it is a 'daylight color.. at nighttime' unless you failed elementary science. If anything cool is a lot more useful to see in pitch black than warm

These are safety lights with a motion sensor, not accent lighting for your patio to demand 3000~3600K color temps for coziness...safety lights are often daylight color balanced.

Also, "amber" colored lights are typically HPS (high pressure sodium) and have been phased out, mainly due to the very low CRI that cheap HPS lighting had. Only cinematographer who were filming on downtown areas and liked the "noir" effect a CRI of 20% complained as LED started taking over (3K typically, outside of freeways)

Adding to the debate, a positive of the higher CCT of this product is the perceived brightness. Being solar, energy to output is very important. Higher CCT's (such as this at 5000+k) "look" brighter than warm at the same lumen output. That is why many security products have higher CCT's.

The separation of the lights and the panel can be good when the light location is shady. But, for places with sunlight, this unit may look bulky. I have 2 security lights with solar panel in the same body. They are super easy to install and works well.

Warm lights are sht and make everything fuzzy. Inside and out, anything I light is 5-6k daylight. If you want light, you want it daylight. If you want to be cozy in the evening to relax, to fall asleep, on the porch, then do your warm lights. Me personally, I still do daylight and dim it for those situations.

I can have these only activate when there is motion correct? Not always on. I'm looking for a light to replace the one inside of my shed. Current setup I dont think the battery is holding charge anymore (dead without use by morning) so it appears its recharging but not holding it. Figure with this panel separate from the light design this would work in my shed (solar panel outside on top)
