The purple filter is a HEPA filter but doesn't meet the EU standard of HEPA. The blue filter is EU rated for HEPA. Either one is fine, but if you want extra filtration just pick up a blue filter off of Amazon.

Better purchasing this from woot and with $49 you can get extra 3 year warranty from Ausirion Amazon unless extra tools are much needed.

I purchased an aftermarket replacement battery for our dyson - it failed after 6 months. I then bought the adapter for Milwaukee for $16, been great since. The negative is I had to modify the wall rack to hold it with the adapter.

I bought a dyson v7 4 years ago. It worked great... until last month when the beater stopped working. I did all the cleaning and double checked everything with no luck. Took it to 2 vacuum shops and both said these are not worth fixing. My take away is that you get a great vacuum for 3-5 years, then have to buy another. To me, it's not worth it, even at this sale price.

Not sure if I got lucky, but the knockoff battery I bought on amazon has been working flawlessly

I'm actually using a 3rd party battery from Amazon on my ancient Dyson v8 and its been going strong for 2+ years now.

Ahh, thanks for the clarification! I have a Dyson stick that's 6+ years old without HEPA and there isn't a way to install a new filter on it. I'm in an area that was hit by a massive urban conflagration and local public health officials have been recommending to have hepa filters on vacuums even after remediation due to additional stuff that'll be blown in the next few years. Frown

I bought a factory refurbished Dyson and the battery started dying one month after the 6 month warranty ran out. The replacement battery was half the cost of the unit.
