I got this from Target's B2G1 in March for a lot less. It was $25 but it was very easy to find two $25 CD's for store pickup. I got auto cancel on the CD's because I didn't pick them up. Akira steelbook became $16.67. I didn't have to deal with the minimum for free shipping either because the in-store pickup counts towards the free shipping requirement.

I got mine on vacation. The SF library was selling off books and things (they had a FULL table of Twilight books) There was a single Laserdisc in the music section for $1, Akira, Japanese Dub, no subtitles. I didn't even own a Laserdisc player at the time.

nice find. vacation in SF? you own a player too? wow. i had the regular akira laserdisc and the 4-disc criterion, sold them. I sold my player. got rid of everything. i live like a buddist now, kinda. just dont collect anything. do you also have the mcfarlane kaneda bike? i had one but my sister took it.

Already have the Blu-ray but this post brought back memories of my youth. Watched it with the kids after they got into Anime and they were amazed with the graphics and storyline for its time. Classic, indeed.
