In for one. FYI to those for whom it's good enough, however: iPhones (and probably others) have a built in background noise function with a bunch of different voices. Settings -> Accessibility -> Audio/Visual -> Background Sounds.

I got one of these the last time that it was on sale. I like it very much. It has a timer that turns off after 30,60, or 90 minutes, or you can have it say on continually. Being so small, the battery is not huge, but you can leave it plugged into a charger all night no problem.

Some of the sounds are silly (lullaby music, a woman saying "Shhhh" repeatedly), but my absolute favorite is the rainfall sounds.

It is great for helping to drown out ambient noise, and it is TINY.

I also picked on up last time they were on sale. I like it. I could use my phone, but its super easy to turn on. Able to use it to disguise the sound of my cpap machine. I use the white noise, have it set for 90min. Been a few weeks, no problem running off battery. I finally recharged it just because. Pretty happy with it.

I bought this last time, it works for me, purpose was a personal white noise machine while sleeping in a shared room, the sounds are inoffensive enough that nobody complained. I usually sleep to youtube autoplay.

I'm no road warrior but I did give a few away to travelers for packing light. Better sleep in unfamiliar places

Good in a pinch, like when camping or sleeping in a hotel without a loud or constant AC/fan. But you can definitely hear the "loop" in most clips, and some inconsistencies in sound quality. The brown noise, for example, has slight warble/flange. It's enough to drive you crazy if you let yourself hear it.

.... I edited my comment. I'm tired and I get too chatty when I get tired. Off to bed for me, listening to the Waves on my egg. Smilie

I bought one of these in a previous deal, and when it arrived I thought it was pretty cool. That was until I tried actually using it when I was traveling. The speaker has an annoying staticky noise when in brown noise mode, which is the only reason I wanted it. I just turned my favorite brown noise video on youtube on my phone and used that instead. Honestly, waste of $8.

Very helpful! Anyone know if Android has something similar?

Just got back from a trip using this. For $8, it's a no brainer. The only thing I don't like is having to cycle thru the tones. Be nice to have a forward and backwards button, but for the money, it worked great

Lectrofan is the best. Tried picking this up for travel, but the volume does not go high enough for me. I think this would work for general noise but anything louder like annoying kids walking yapping down the hallway of a hotel at 2AM and it won't help.

I just got it last Friday and I plan to return it soon.
The product matches its spec, but several shortcomings that are unacceptable for me.
1. The sound quality is bad. I understand that this is the limit of small speaker which is caused by its tiny size, but this make it sounds really bad to me, so I'm distracted by the sound quality during sleeping.
2. Seems every sound is repeated at about two minutes. Which is ok for this type of device. But when I fail to sleep, I will try to find the duplication when my brain realizes it. So I cannot sleep at all with this device.

Of course, the real period of it needs someone to record and analyze to get accurate timing. Or disassemble the device and check rom size on it.

All in all, a nice small gadget, but not for me.

Bought one a while ago, not sure if it was on sale or not, but we use it every day and all night for our infants naps and at bed time. I'm getting a second one for my out of town business trips.

dude, the woman saying shh is what we have for the past 1.5 years! So much so that I myself can't sleep without it 😂
