In for one. FYI to those for whom it's good enough, however: iPhones (and probably others) have a built in background noise function with a bunch of different voices. Settings -> Accessibility -> Audio/Visual -> Background Sounds.

I got one of these the last time that it was on sale. I like it very much. It has a timer that turns off after 30,60, or 90 minutes, or you can have it say on continually. Being so small, the battery is not huge, but you can leave it plugged into a charger all night no problem.

Some of the sounds are silly (lullaby music, a woman saying "Shhhh" repeatedly), but my absolute favorite is the rainfall sounds.

It is great for helping to drown out ambient noise, and it is TINY.

I also picked on up last time they were on sale. I like it. I could use my phone, but its super easy to turn on. Able to use it to disguise the sound of my cpap machine. I use the white noise, have it set for 90min. Been a few weeks, no problem running off battery. I finally recharged it just because. Pretty happy with it.
I just got a CPAP machine and it's silent. I mean zero noise whatsoever. I pull the mask off and it shuts down automatically. The only issue I've had is making sure it's on, and that's on me for not reading all the instructions.
That said, I'm not sure how I lived without a white nose machine for so long. I have an app on my phone but last time it prevented my alarm from going off and I almost missed my Lyft ride to the airport. Was going to pick one up, but the deal is DEAD!

Good in a pinch, like when camping or sleeping in a hotel without a loud or constant AC/fan. But you can definitely hear the "loop" in most clips, and some inconsistencies in sound quality. The brown noise, for example, has slight warble/flange. It's enough to drive you crazy if you let yourself hear it.
Thank you - I was wondering how long the loop is. I pick up on these loops very quickly and start anticipating when the next repeat is going to occur (despite trying not to think about it), which keeps me awake.

When I got the device I listened to sounds and I could NOT pick up on the LOOPING! I went to Amazon User reviews and typed in the word "LOOP" and people said they had very, very hard time picking out the loops, they seemed hidden and concealed ...very hard to spot.

Also, a lot depends where you place speakers, on wood table, on bed blanket, with speakers on bottom or on top. Also volume can be used wisely (pro device having 32 levels of volume is excellent) , depending on sound. I am very sensitive to looping stuff over the last 30 years. And make my own sound recordings and examine the wave forms, looking for repeat stuff, also learned how to "hide" it, the person who recorded these sounds was a PRO in my opinion. I'm impressed.

Comically small but works great. For $8, it's a no brainer.

i think people here complaining have unrealistic expectations for a $5-8 device
I disagree. You should be thanking/repping/ or at least not shaming them for expecting it to be usable, when it isn't usable for them.

If it drowns out nothing, for example, it is simply not worth anything to them. It is good to know detailed reviews/opinions. I would expect it to be good enough to break the silence but maybe not good enough to drown out noisy background, based on the opinions stated. Very helpful.

Take a look at the 7% of reviews being 1-star, and you will see several folks with the same complaints. As well as durability issues. If you have tried one, please share your review if you like, but don't put down complaints as if they are invalid, simply based on this cheap pricing.
Also, the regular price is closer to $19. This is a sale and has an additional code to drop the price so low.Attachment 17575876

For $8 this is great to not mess with phone being connected to speaker etc etc. Just turn on and sleep. It's plenty loud and lasts all night. Idk what other people are smoking

I just picked up my second one. It's plenty loud and it's purpose is to be used for traveling. It's so small, you can throw it any bag or backpack and be able to sleep. I use the fan noise, so I don't care if it "repeats".

If this help me sleep one time, it's worth its weight in gold.

Thank you! Missed this the last time and glad to pick one up this time. Perfect for primitive camping and can charge it back up via my solar battery pack!

If anyone here has returned this, were you able to take it to a UPS store or Whole Foods and return it for free?
I saw that it says 30 day return but it didn't have the "free returns" icon that is on most products.
