I used this stuff for a while, because Lawry's stopped making their hot version, but I went back to Lawry's. It's just better. I use Carolina Reaper sauce anyways, but I liked having the added spice of the "Hot" seasoning when Lawry's made it.

My taco seasoning:

4 tablespoons chili powder

2 tablespoons cumin

1 tablespoon paprika

1 tablespoon salt

1 teaspoon dried minced garlic

1 teaspoon minced onion (dried - onion powder works too)

1 teaspoon oregano

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon corn starch

If you'd like it more mild, add more paprika and less chili powder.

American chili powder or Pepper chilli powder?

Red chili powder.

This makes enough for about 5-6lbs of meat. Add the seasoning and cook it off for a minute or so, then add 1/2 cup of water to distribute it. Cook off the water and that'll do it.

Did McCormick ever sort out their heavy metals in the seasonings problem?
