You're absolutely right , however this Samsung has the icemaker in the freezer and not in the door making these fridges a lot more reliable compared to previous ones. Plus I'm getting a home warranty anyway.

Idk tbh I think all brands are highly unreliable LG and whirlpool have just as many issues. At least with Samsung you can get your money back.

My Samsung washer dryer and fridge are 10 to 14 years old and all work great. They made them much better back then

Samsung products suck. TVs bend, Fridges stop making ice, screens stop working, etc. Even their customer service sucks. I don't recommend samsung.

haha same i got one in 2011 and the ice-maker still works too! super convenient and i've heard those in-door icemakers are usually trouble.

I remember some years ago an appliance salesman at Best Buy told me to never buy a Samsung appliance because they are garbage and while they technically have warranties, there are no repair people available to fix them in most places. I know someone with a Samsung washing machine and Samsung had to send some repairman from Dish network out there at least 4 times and it still wasn't fixed. So yeah, Samsung has agreements with Dish network and the service techs are useless.

I'm going to throw out some advice I wish I knew before I purchased my Samsung appliances.

Check for the nearest Samsung service center. If you do not have one nearby, do not buy a Samsung appliance.

I had my dryer fail first, the first year the belt wheel went out. Fixable under warranty. The end of the same year and just out of warranty, and each year after that the drum roller wheels wear out. Plastic on metal ... I've been able to replace them and will continue until something else fails. About a 1 hour take apart and $15 fix.

Year 3, the washing machine main control board fried. Not repairable for cost. Had to buy a new washer.

Year 4.5 the refrigerator sealed system / compressor went out. Under warranty because it was under 5 years old, but nobody will repair a Samsung fridge. Nobody local would touch them or work with Samsung. Apparently their sealing process leaks and that's the reason they fail over time. We were out a fridge for 4 months while Samsung "tried" to repair it by having me call repair companies over 1,000 miles away just to be turned down. I loved the fridge (was the Family Hub version) but I will never buy another Samsung appliance ever. Customer support was good at first, but then just terrible to work with and get a hold of. Weeks would go by without them responding to me.

They make good monitors and TVs though! Wink

I had a samsung from 09 that I had many repairs on and eventually replaced with a bespoke ones and 2 years and no problems. It has the ice in the freezer and not the problematic door ice maker.

That must be the case because we have a stove top, hooded vent, oven and refrigerator all from 2022 and all of them are awful. We've already had the oven motherboard replaced and it still isn't good, the ice machine has been replaced 3x already and it still freezes over YET melts through into the fridge and out the front door through the ice dispenser. The pitcher is the ONLY good thing about the fridge and even that had to be hacked because it leaked when we poured water. We have a rubber band under the seal to stop it from leaking. I guess it is like everything else that's made "back then". It was just way better.

If there's an ice maker in the door that's not the Bespoke line. The Bespoke fridges are fantastic.
