The brushless motor will last longer but with the life time warranty it doesn't really matter. If the brushed motor goes out, you can just get it replaced with the warranty so i buy brushed when they go on sale.

Does Rigid replace with the same model or newer brushless if old brushed is no longer available. I already have this saw. Bought it with a "hack", returned batteries, ended up around $80. The bundled batteries were 4A and 6A. Regret returning because now i have ryobi cordless vac and other tools that i use with rigid batteries. Always need more battery for the vac.

Is there any way to do the hack on the battery and charger to save more money? Just wondering if anybody tried that. Thanks!

One of my old brushed drills stop working and since they didnt make that model anymore, they gave me a free upgrade to the most recent drill. They made me a life time ridgid fan after that situation!
