It's been confirmed that this will be actual game. No Game Key. Games with Game Key has a white bar at the bottom near the ESRB rating

Street Fighter 6 is one of them and you can see the difference on the game cases. See attached image
For a not even released Nintendo first party game (which rarely go on sale) $8 is significant.
It's partially significant.

Yeah I was kind of leaning that way as well... But I do bet the system will be hard to get by Christmas

Console are always hard to find. Supply and demand. If Nintendo can keep up with demand, there will be more on shelves. If they cant or because of tariffs, it would be harder to find. Games are a dime a dozen.

If these really are just keys in a case to allow downloads, I'll finally break down get digital versions for this system. This is a good price though.

As the person you responded to mentioned, it's $7 off not $8. That's 10%.
Don't know why you're trying to die on this weird hill. I'm sorry that $7 off isn't significant enough for you personally, but it is, objectively, a significant price reduction for a new Nintendo game.

No, $8 is not significant. That was my point.

It's more than 10% off. That's pretty good considering the situation. If you don't agree, then you'll probably have to wait till next year to see a greater discount.

Tariffs won't impact their ability to build the console. I doubt they are sourcing any parts from the USA. The fully assembled item is being imported so the tariff situation is just going to affect final pricing and therefore demand. I doubt the price will go down in the short term. If Nintendo raises prices, then demand would soften and as long as they still have the same amount produced for the USA, then they'll be available. Now, Nintendo may decide to increase production for other markets to meet demand there, and then there could be fewer consoles available in North America.
Time will tell.

It is NOT just a download key. None of Nintendo's first party games are, so far.

doubt it especially for 1st party games
When I was in the Switch 2 pre-order line at Gamestop, an employee announced to everyone in the line that for some of the games they had limited inventory, so they might get sold out at some point. But for Donkey Kong Bananza they had unlimited inventory, so it won't get sold out. Not sure why this game was different from the rest. And not that I would expect any new game to be difficult to source, but for what it worth, based on that announcement, I think getting hold of specifically this game (especially at full retail price), is not going to be a problem.

I originally preordered Mario Kart World (I'm a physical game person. I don't like downloads) from Target. Since I'm a PRO member with GameStop, I get $5/month. Ended up preordering from GS and the staff was checking their list for MKW as well but I guess they had slots/or was taking a chance to see if system would allow.

They said the same for DK where there was no limit. I guess with MKW being so popular and it's a launch game, I guess there's limited inventory.
