Many reviews said this may produce good flow of air but also very loud and some said sounds like jet engine.

Kind of make sense since fans with wider blades and larger diameters are typically quieter than smaller fans because they can move the same amount of air at a lower speed (RPM). This slower speed results in less noise due to reduced air turbulence and vibrations. Larger fans also distribute airflow more efficiently, requiring less effort to move air.

And this fan has very small blades so much higher RPM to produce the same airflow. Which is why it is very loud. Wonder if there are other portable fans with larger blades which hopefully produce less noise than this.

It really reduce the use case for this if it is too loud to use around people or too loud so you can't concentrate on the things you are doing.....

I purchased this fan. It does have a jet engine sound to it. Air flow is good tho.

I have a fan with the similar design. It surprisingly produce a lot of air movement. It can be a bit loud at the max setting.
I don't think it's a good deal though. I bought mine for around $5, and there are plenty of other options.

Good catch. The Amazon listing has some videos from users. It's possible that cheap microphones are extra sensitive to the tones the fan produces. But in the videos, the fans all seem to have an audible high-pitch hum. For me personally, it appears the noise would easily be a deal-breaker.

This same vendor has a newer fan that has a similar look and price, and it appears to be just as loud. My guess is you won't find a similar fan that's quiet unless it's bigger and/or more expensive.

Maybe the sound is less noticeable outside.

get one of those portable job site fans. They're big and quiet.. Lol emphasis on the big part compared to op. Won't be able to wear it around your neck. Or maybe you can if you have a strong neck

Maybe a good use case for when you are already operating loud equipment. On my riding mower I wear my XM4 headphones, wouldn't barely hear a a thing

They definitely make similar products with larger fan blades. I have one and the noise isn't too bad on the lower settings. I imagine they'll all have some level of noise/high pitched whine because of the size, but this might be worse than most... Those blades look quite small

The real question is how many can you buy at $9 price and how much do you weigh?
