Nope. Still a Strat. Gibsons are inappropriate for classic Ritchie Blackmore tunes. This guitar is perfect for playing BB King. But kudos to Gibson for once again trying unsuccessfully to invade Fender turf by calling the color Deep Purple.

Nope. BB King was an ES-355 player. To be technically accurate, one would need to be heavily influenced by coke, to play Clapton from back when he was in Cream.

A 335 should be sunburst, black, red, or white. A 335 player isn't going to buy a purple guitar.

I actually would say that, this being a very classically styled and very expensive instrument, consider being careful about the choice of color. It will have a limited amount of "old-school" appeal, and many may expect it to be a classic color.....especially if you want to get rid of it someday. I like the way it looks in this almost black color. Although, it is nice to see the wood grain on these.
