The hp onmibook flip ultra deal at Costco is much better. Cheaper, better screen, and ability to rotate the screen can be useful.
I don't know why Asus makes this model and the Vivobook S with the exact same processor and screen. The Vivobook doesn't have quite as good of build quality but is still very good and is often available for $800.
I have bought both - thinking which one to keep However this one is lighter and superior CPU. 2.8 vs 3.95 lbsI am wondering for 14" does 3k really matter ? other than rotation and better screen what else does the Omnibook offer ?

I see your point, but I think you're both right and wrong. While HP might seem like the better option for many users, those prioritizing performance would likely prefer Asus. The HP model comes with an Ultra 7 processor, whereas the Asus features an Ultra 9, which offers significantly better performance. It's also worth noting that the integrated GPU in the Ultra 9 is superior to that of the Ultra 7. That said, I agree that HP tends to perform better right out of the box. With Asus, I had to fully format the SSD and do a clean installation to fully unlock its potential. (Yes, out of the box the Asus was a super slow turtle) If someone can send me a link of HP to match Asus specs... something like HP having 14" OLED, Ultra 9 285H, 32GB RAM, 2.8 pounds.
I don't get why anyone would choose the Ultra 7—it's honestly pretty awful.
I very much appreciated Ultra 9 because I already could do a good job with adobe products like Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere pro, Premiere rush, Premiere elements.
But converting and upscaling videos took a while... Definitely a dedicated video card is needed but not expected in this form factor.
BTW, the Asus screen can be upgraded to a 3K touchscreen if needed (check eBay)

To be honest I used Asus laptops for about 20+ years and never had any problems with claiming warranty when needed. This time I even got an email from Asus that this laptop comes with 1yr Accidental Damage Protection which is super nice 👍 I'll try to attached a screenshot. (edit to add the screenshot)

Is there a 14" omnibook?
Fwiw, my Asus zenbook 14x from Best buy 2 years old has been great.

So you don't have any issues with cooling with ultra 9? Reddit is full of complaints about the single fan being inadequate for the ultra 9

16" diagonal vs 14" diagonal.
Ultra 7 258V, 8-Core vs Ultra 9 285H
Ultra 9 285H has 16 cores and 16 threads
Ultra 7 258V has 8 cores and 8 threads
Ultra 9 285H runs at 2.90 GHz (boosting up to 5.40 GHz)
Ultra 7 258V operates at 2.20 GHz (boosting up to 4.80 GHz)
Ultra 9 285H has 24MB of L3 cache, double that of the Ultra 7 258V's 12MB
Both CPUs come with Intel Arc graphics, but the Ultra 9 285H has a higher turbo GPU frequency (2.35 GHz vs. 1.95 GHz)
Yes, HP undoubtedly offers superior screen quality, featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and 3K resolution.

And If I'm not mistaken, the Vivobook S has much better cooling setup with dual fans than the Zenbook, which not only will increase shelf-life but will help prevent general performance throttling. Even their "ExpertBook," which prides itself on being more modular and serviceable, has terrible single fan cooling where one side of the laptop runs way too hot.

Look great, but still heavier than Lenovo.
Off-topic but does anyone know how to get a good deal on X1 Carbon? Anything with similar specs is double the price on their website and I don't see them on 3rd party retailers much
