I bought something very similar to this. The lids were a super hard plastic and they didn't seal and were a nightmare to deal with. I ended up getting "Thyme & table 32 piece nesting stainless steel bowls set" from Walmart and the lids were a very nice soft plastic and bendable and they seal really nice.

I love how this set is "20 pieces", which are about 12 pieces you actually want and then a bunch of random, low-quality crap they threw in with it to make it a unique bundle for Amazon (so they don't consolidate the listing with similar others) and to make the product seem like it's more than a set of mixing bowls.

Did you buy this from Costco? I have something that sounds similar. The lids I've not had any issues with. But the metal tops for shredding are kinda trash.
