EDIT:
The cons are also there. This product is a "unique SKU" with little info. closest matching product is TL-SG105S-M2, which also has very little reviews.
BUT, what's REALLY disappointing is the TP-link warranty program. general info on it his like finding a need on a haystack.. but after some deep diving, this product should be a 3 year warranty. --->> VS TRENDnet switches that have lifetime warranties.
the $40 price tag of this product is crazy good, but for $60, you can get an easy-to-find info like this product:
https://www.bhphotovide
or this one with the same 5x 2.5G ports AND an 10G SFP+ port:

What model? The flex mini 2.5?

I would avoid TP-Link simply for this alone.

FYI for those not familiar with the Ubiquiti Flex Mini 2.5G, the PoE is input only. It doesn't output PoE.

So parrot away useless information, that as pointed out is nothing but politically driven and lobbyist driven by other manufactures so they dont have to compete against TP-Link on price. There is a reason all the other major manufactures are getting killed when TP-Link gear out performs them at a discount MSRP rate.

1. Unmanaged
2. Chinese
I got in MC 2x Managed 2.5G switches with $25 coupon off (filler $2 printer paper).

So not only do you not understand how switches work, you don't understand supply chains either.
For starters, switches are inherently layer 2 devices, meaning they don't route packets. When you start getting into managed switches, they are sometimes called layer 2+ devices. Meaning they may have some ability to emulate features found on a router, aside from the actual routing (and no, VLANs don't count because they aren't routed).
Between a managed and unmanaged switch, the former is far more likely to have a backdoor/exploit because of the added sophistication of the firmware. But it still won't route and thus can't be exploited the same way you'd exploit a router.
As for being "Chinese", where do you think the components in all these (largely imaginary) US based companies come from?
It doesn't take much to have another Spectre/Meltdown. Which, by the way, was entirely homegrown.
