because it may matter to someone....
TP-Link 2.4g is wifi 4 while 5g is wifi 6.
Beryl AX both 2.4 and 5 are wifi 6.

not saying this is a bad deal - just pointing out something some may find important.
I have this one. It's pretty good. I think a Beryl AX is a better solutions at a higher price point. The Opal is on it's way out but also cheaper. I paid 37.99 plus tax so this is not the lowest price, but it's not a bad price relative to the competition.
The big issue I have with it is that it comes with a power brick and uses a barrel connection for power. The Opal and Beryl both use USB-C and can be powered via a battery for several hours. I guess I could find a barrel to usb-c but I would have preferred a usb-c connection for convenience.

EDIT: I was mistaken, it is USB-C, and I confused it with something else that was barrel. The issue I had with this one is that smaller usb packs will not power it, but others do (and those same smaller packs worked with my Gli Net). Is this a big deal? Not necessarily. I apologize for the mistake.
Does the back door come preinstalled or do you need to configure it yourself? /s

Tried this and it didn't work. It turns off the Wi-Fi network I'm connected to and then turns on the hotspot and makes it use a cellular connection. But I don't have a cellular connection on the phone so there's no signal. Very weird. Any advice?
I don't know. I have a dual SIM phone. I can disable both SIMs and be only connected to WiFi. I can then turn on the hotspot. This seems to duplicate your situation and it works for me.

Here is a link (it says this won't work on an IPhone)
