I got one of these last week (not my money, thankfully) for a client event. Guests were the type who wouldn't use the hotel WiFi with a web-based gateway that requires an email address. Piggybacked off the hotel network and set up a custom network ID with access password so users could get right on without the login page, and it worked like a charm. Guests appreciated the easy access and client was happy that the network name was their stock symbol.

While really cool, I'm not sure how usable WiFi 6 would be in reality. Most hotels, that I've found at least, have a 100mbs LAN at best, which will be your bottle neck. Perhaps they're a few other scenarios that this could work??

Sounds like a feature lock by Verizon. I think att used to do that and/or my work just unlocks it for us. Shitty carriers

Anyone tried using this in a car? I'm wondering if the power requirements (12v) are too high for the usb ports. Probably are.

how exactly and why would you use this in a car? just curious. Also, it can be charged via power bank so i don't see how you couldn't just plug it into a car usb charger.

For portable wifi when driving. Our van actually has a hotspot built in but it's AT&T and a pain to start and stop. Would consider this if I could tether to my phone and use while driving so the kids can use internet, and hopefully would be a little easier on the phone than serving as a hotspot. Don't think I'd bother with it if I need to buy and mess with a power bank.
