Tales is sort of an action/RPG series. Not like Zelda at all. I haven't played this one, but have played a few others in the series. I like them. Check out a gameplay video if you're on the fence.

Not like Zelda. It's an action JRPG. This isn't open world. There are better intros to the Tales series of games. I'd do Vesperia or Graces F first.

Looks like the "recent" reviews are only taking into account a total of 15 of the 7000 total reviews, recent earning a "mixed" rating vs the "very positive" of the other 7100+ reviews. Steam's line in the sand seems to be a little misleading IMO.

What I can't get is all the reviews of the game's combat make it appear really jittery. Not sure if that is a style choice or what.

This game was poorly ported to PC, so lots of the negative reviews will point out the performance.

Tales of Arise is the latest original game in the series and is probably the best one ever made. $20 on Steam currently.
