I hate my T8 AIVI. The hardware is durable, but the software, mapping, and app sucks.

No firmware updates were releases for it 1 year after release, and its obstacle avoidance sucks.

Would anyone recommend the x2 Omni over a Roborock?

This. I have an ecovac and iRobot. The ecovac does a single guest room one day a week because it fails at pretty much every other task.

I would not at all, bought it and have regretted paying what I did for it. The mapping is awful and it misses floor area all the time and then ends the cleaning early. Do not waste your money.

I have X1 Omni and I do NOT recommend it. It constantly stops and asks to clean sensors (even though they are clean), every minute. The mopping isn't great either, I would not get one again that has spinning round pads, rather look for a roller version, which is a much better unit that also wets it as it goes. X1 constantly had to return back to station to get the pads cleaned and wet.

My x1 onmi lasted about 2-3 years and wouldn't recommend, even at $200 - and good luck repairing any of it - it's impossible to get apart without breaking something, and even if you do, finding parts is impossible. In my case the dust bin constantly said it needed emptying even after a fresh bag - this started about a year into ownership. the the drive wheels started to fail and it wouldn't be able to move. The entire time we've owned it though, it's always had real problems getting up onto rugs, like the edge would catch on the brush bar and prevent it from moving forward so it would just spin in circles for several minutes before finally taking it at an angle and getting onto our low pile rugs.
The app is horrible and there are "rooms" i could never divide into the room they actually were, it was awful at identifying doorways and generally clunky.
I recently found a roborock q5 on FB marketplace for $50 and decided to try it out, and it's a huge improvement to the ecovacs in almost every way (other than not being able to mop). I can divide rooms without any issues, it reliably mapped and regularly cleans my floors without getting stuck, even though it doesn't have cameras or advanced 3d object scanning tech - it just works. My next robot will likely be a roborock... but i do miss the repairability of the iRobot vacs... they just slept too long on the lidar.

No way. I ordered one, impulse buy. Afterwards I started checking the reviews from Amazon, Reddit and YouTube. There is a clear reason why it's this cheap. Although it has all the whistles and bells on paper, in real life it struggles a lot according to users. Roborock is awesome. And BTW check https://vacuumwars.com/vacuum-war...t-vacuums/ for a great selection. There is also a VacummWars channel on YouTube and it's awesome.

Not at all! I had this one from Costco. I had issues from the first day and they didn't get better. I returned it and bought the Roborock. The Roborock is amazing! I highly recommend it.

I have an ecovacs N8. I really liked it after upgrading from a Neato Dbot. I've come to really dislike the ecovacs due to software and mapping issues. It frequently loses its location and starts creating a new map. Also, it struggles to clean my carpet due to frequent false main roller "jams".

I have a roborock q5 max+ for the second floor which is mostly carpet and the software / mapping is amazing in comparison. I just bought the roborock Q Revo to replace the ecovacs on the main floor.

What really is the best robot vacuum? My Eufy G20's been cleaning on auto every morning for 3 years but I've been looking for an upgrade for a while. Was considering the iRobot Roomba j7+ because I thought they were the best brand. More recent research seems to point to the QRevo Master, QRevo S, and Q5 Max.
