I read through the question and answer section and this comment stood out. "DWHT16063 has two origins (possibly more), Made in England and Made in Vietnam. We (HD Warehouse) have an older production run England copyrighted 2017 & a newer Vietnam copyrighted 2021. English made is superior in both blade honing and packaging, IMO."
Take it for what you will, but this could be Made in Vietnam and of lesser quality? A simple return would solve it once it arrives in the mail and can be confirmed.

I realize it's more than the chisels, but if you want to keep your chisels razor sharp (literally) this is the ticket...

So it's $45, you need a drill press and you have to make the jig yourself. Unless you are sharpening chisels daily, I'd stick to a regular or diamond stone
While I don't have any experience outside of my Blue Chips and a few lesser chisels over the years, I did pick up an incomplete (7 of the 8 pieces) set of Wood River chisels about five years ago from Goodwill for...wait for it...EIGHT DOLLARS. They're expensive to buy new, but not insane, and they hold an edge very well. I would add a picture, but I can't from the app, maybe I'll try from desktop later. Even at their current price, they are a nice balance between cost and quality. That being said, if you are looking to get a set, look at woodworking websites for reviews, there may be much better deals out there. And, as I said, if you're just doing homeowner type stuff, the dewalt are fine, and cheap enough that you can buy them, use them, and then get a better set if and when you want to.

I never had enough room or money for a workshop/tools/materials as I got older so I stopped learning the craft, but it's still something I admire greatly.

The Veritas system is nice, but a person doesn't NEED it. A doule sided water stone will suffice to start out.
We live in a world now where we can learn ANYTHING, and many different techniques of doing those things we are learning, with a few mouse clicks, and of course, putting in the effort.
Do it.
I taught myself to build guitars in my teens in the 1980s without the benefit of the internet and YouTube, although I did buy a Stew Mac video or two, and a.bunch of the various luthiery books. You don't need a ton of tools to start in woodworking, less than a hundred dollars in simple hand tools will suffice.

Even allows you to strop your chisels for that final razor edge. For me, worth every single penny. Yes, diamond (and regular stones) can sharpen a chisel, but not as quickly or efficiently or accurately as the Taylor system IMHO.
