The Best Buy model features an OLED screen, while this one uses an IPS display. If you prefer OLED, it might be worth spending the extra $100.
FYI, the 16S is a slim model, so 115W 5070ti. And I'm not so sure it will actually be $1899 once it finally releases. Also, I tried out the 16 yesterday at MC. The screen is fantastic, excellent colors. Probably one of the best that I've seen that's not mini-led or OLED.

EDIT: Dammit. It not the 16S, it's the 16. Nuts...
Placed and order for pickup and then saw the detail.... hmmmm, not so sure now.
EDIT 2: Nope, IPS screen, not OLED. Nuts. Oh well, back to waiting.

Yeah baby! In for one. Plus they're $100 lower than Best Buy who has been advertising this damn thing all over Reddit for weeks with zero stock. Sweet!

Yeah, was so excited for this laptop, I moved too quick. No chance I want the IPS screen. Cancelled the order. Damn shame..... itchy trigger finger.

I was under the impression Nvidia was limiting their mobile GPUs so that going over 100w did not increase performance?

Yep. I'm wondering the same thing. It started on Best Buy at $1,799.00. No stock of course. Then they said the "sale" was ending (it was never sold) and increased the price $100 last week. What will the price be when it's finally released? Your guess is as good as mine.
Good that you got to see the 16 on display. My MC had 5 in stock with none on display.

In the last generation (40 series), there was a performance limit of 100-105w even though it was said to go to 140w. This was true of the 4050, 4060, and 4070, but not the 4080 or 4090. The new 50 series had different limits that are starting to be discovered. For example, the 5070 ti mobile is said to simple hard stop at 140w even though it looks like it could go higher. https://youtu.be/l8WV7DdeNIQ?si=a46JWw8qs63RaV6D

The Predator Helios line locks down the BIOS and the old method from getting the full bios no longer works. I have a 2024 Helios and it is very frustrating. So long as you're 100% fine with the stock performance it is probably fine I guess. If you want to load on a clean version of Windows you'll need to download the Intel Rapid State driver pack from the support page and unzip it on your USB stick when you boot to it to reimage with a fresh Windows build then when it can't find your SSD (because they put it into RAID mode to make it more difficult to wipe their system and keep you from being spied on by their bloatware) you have to select load drivers and point it to the driver folder you got from the support page.
Otherwise the thing is physically nice, other than the microscopic mousepad.
