It would likely be fine as long as you were careful and stopped it once it was tight, so it didn't keep hammering after that
Low profile impact with a stubby impact is really nice, it also keeps weight down. These I can throw on a regular impact driver and do most things.
As I get older I'm buying more and more to keep weight down. You really will never need heavy 1/4 in impacts. You might as well get these if you think you need 1/4 impacts.
I was doing this bc i rarely use my impact but its not worth the risk. There was a 25$ complete impact set posted recently just get that

It might seem that SAE is obsolete, and perhaps it should be, but there are trades and industries where its code to use them. Electrical code for example has legal requirements for this or that size SAE fasteners. The time and effort to change all that code and the difficulties of a transition period mean that SAE is going to be around for quite a while.
