The X5 is a major step up so if you can swing the extra $100 or so for that, I think it's worth it for the improvements to video quality and fixable lenses.

I mean, ya, it's a historical low price but it's probably going to stay around this given the X5's release. Good price but not, OMG BUY NOW price IMO.

Can anyone comment how good of a deal this is considering we have the X5 at Costco? I'd really like to get one but image qualities is pretty important, but if this is a smokin hot deal I'll go for it.

I got a X4 that I used a bit when I was snowboarding and the main issue I had was that the lens covers would always fog up. Seems like with these replaceable lenses it should help that issue

so for my use case I think getting the newer one is a better deal it will probably go on sale soon anyways

at highest resolution/settings, and in the sun, yes it can overheat. The menu system actually warns you on the X5 when you go to the highest settings.
