Edit: See my reply. While I think the price could be lower, there are not many options for travel routers. With reduced competition, prices stay higher. This is generally regarded as the best WiFi 6 travel router.
but the best use case for me is to use the same network name as one i use at home, so when arrive a location, you just have one router to setup and all your device will connect as if you are at home.

The MT3000 being offered here is supported by openwrt though: https://openwrt.org/toh/gl.inet/gl-mt3000
I also have mine configured to use a ProtonVPN Free account when I need to use a VPN. Works great. Fast, too.

but the best use case for me is to use the same network name as one i use at home, so when arrive a location, you just have one router to setup and all your device will connect as if you are at home.
I'm actually using mine right now.
first, you can buy the wifi with the phone,
then I see 2 options:
1. use the USB cable to tether & share the wifi through this router
2. clone the mac address of your phone, and use router to connect to the plane's wifi and share it
Heres how i do it for Airplanes and Hotel Rooms
1 you setup all your devices to connect to the travel router.
2 once the airplane or hotel room hit 10K feet ( altitude of the hotel room varies use your judgement) turn on the wifi router, connect your phone to the router, go to the login screen of the router and then select the repeater option for the wifi you want to rebroadcast.
3 you'll be taken to the login screen of the plane/hotel room. do what you need to activate it (ex tmobile 1 hour)
4 then have your other devices connect to it and they can enjoy the interweb.
Pay once for many devices
I'm also going to need to buy a portable charger to power this, and there will probably be a hundred of them on sale for Prime day lol
