Lost me on non upgradable RAM, this should minimum have 32gigs if it was to be taken seriously for gaming. Waste of $900 at this point.
It's hilarious that you don't post such comments when a staff member has posted these deals. They posted the same deal a few months back, and it was a popular FP deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/18242584-certified-refurb-acer-predator-helios-14-laptop-14-5-1600p-intel-core-ultra-7-155h-16gb-1tb-rtx-4070-900-free-shipping?src=SDSearchv3&attrsrc=Thread%3AExpired%3ATrue%7CSearch%3AType%3Anormal%7CSearch%3ASort%3Arelevance%7CSearch%3AHideExpired%3Afalse&peid=9e9fc47a-4f8f-4969-9c2a-4ea95176b0db
It's a 14" thin gaming/creator laptop, and 16GB RAM is enough for the use case scenario and it's very common in thin and light gaming laptops at the given price.

Yes sometimes they send the item back to you without doing anything to it and you have to complain and send it back. Then they reimburse you with a check and your item never shows up.
Sucks that they're flaky. At least they reimburse!

Sorry slick deal threads are not like Pokémon I don't try to catch them all, if I saw it I would have posted the same comment on theirs. Also I trash plenty of staff posted deals look at my posting history. You just post more than just about anyone else, so yes the frequency of me replying in your posts is going to probably be higher than most others, in support or against depending on the deal. I have backed up plenty of your deals in the past.

I'm sorry, but I definitely don't recall you backing up plenty, if any, of my deals in the past. I only remember you for trashing almost every other deal I post.
But no worries, I'll keep an eye out now.

I've had this in my cart for $900-something. So they increased the price to $1124.99 + added a 20% off coupon to make it look like a good sale. Frown

Woot just posted the I9 with WQXGA+ 165hz display version for $1019.00 which is slick. The i9 is only about 7% faster than the i7. Sadly it only has 16gb ram and not the normal 32gb. Not sure if it's worth it: will not be able to run a lot at that resolution.

This laptop runs very well with full 115w in boost. Needs a cooling pad. Rams not a bottleneck, the GPU vram will get you first every time. This is lpddr5x which is much faster than most laptop ram. Good bandwidth.

This will be sufficient til Cloud computing takes over soon anyway for most people in high bandwidth areas.

You only want this laptop if the 4 lb small format is of intrest.

Else look to the 16. They have this at Costco for $1400 with i9/4070/32gb.
8gb VRAM on a 1440p screen is planned obsolescence

You weirdos have been clamoring "cloud computing" for decades at this point.... It's not going to happen

16gb of RAM is the spot on laptops that don't even have a dedicated GPU....

Don't try to sell poor specs as something good when this 4070 was initially more expensive

It already works fine. Ever try? Just can't do multiplayer until they add a universal delay.

lotta benchmarks show 16gb vs 32gb RAM has little difference in FPS for games.

I did see a couple that showed 32GB being 20-30% better FPS, but those reviews had little info on the setup. So quite possibly they had a ton of apps and crap running besides the game, which would be a big issue for the 16GB system.

Not a gaming issue more of a multitasking/if you use this for other programs. If running multiple screens and docked it'd be more of an issue IMO than if you just plan on using the laptop on it's own. Also I think editing programs like after effects would want more ram. 16GB in this setup isn't terrible, but with the beefy CPU and GPU they should give you the option to upgrade at least.

Buy one last week from Costco. Brand new unopened. Within two days the screen started acting up. Had to return it.

also 32gb of RAM is VERY helpful if you do things like video editing. Davinci resolve likes ram.

After I saw this deal I got this for $999 but brand new from Walmart near me for pick-up. Was the last one they had. Added the 3 year All State warranty for $89 and after tax was 1194 out the door. Will do perfectly fine for light gaming and home computing until I can build a desktop.

For under a grand this laptop is a fantastic deal honestly. With the maturing of DLSS and single frame generation not too worried about the VRAM.
