Sales must be tanking so hard that they're offering discount-after-discount on their lowest margin, entry-level product. (we all know apple puts a criminal upcharge on basic upgrades like hard drive and ram -- THAT'S what subsidizes these entry level machines.)

I was about to buy it at this price but took too long to pull the trigger and missed it. Now the lowest I'm seeing is 899 at Best Buy. (With the exception of Micro Center, but I don't live close to their store locations. And I don't think Best Buy would price match with Micro Center?) Should I wait for it to go back to $849? Or will it be a while before that happens and I should just take the $899 price at Best Buy?

Sorry some people that follow deals on products can start to predict when a sale is likely. Obviously never guaranteed. But I've actually been pretty good at it with Costco in particular on certain items but I haven't been following apple products and thought someone here might be. And your comment made it sound like you've been seeing a pattern with discount after discount. So my apologies if that was a dumb question. Anyway just got it on the Costco sale!
