Have a few in my garage. Work great for overhead storage. I would recommend to use lag bolts.
You'd need 4 of them not 2
For the 2' x 8' config the extra parts look like:

P5 Vertical center support - upper x2
P6 Vertical center support - lower x2

For the 4' x 4' :

P7 Rack connection bracket x2

Connect the racks (4' x 4', 2' x 8'):

Lay two rack sections upside down on the floor. Assemble the rack sections (P1) together using M8 - 1.25 x 12 socket-head cap screws (F1) (2) and M8 - 1.25 Rectangular nuts (F4) (2).

Plus any extra screws and nuts.

5/16" x 3" Lag bolts are used for install

This thing is a sore eye in my garage. In truth, I find myself buying less and storing less. It is also a pain trying to get the stuff in the back since my racks are connected together to make the storage bigger. I will say this is a great deal. Just get a stackable bin and stack on top of each other. Easy and it doesn't block out the light.

These work great in the newer mcmansions with 12+ ft ceilings

How are these compared to the Costco sells? 4'*8' for $149. I know it isn't apples to apples comparison

First time owner, where's a common location inside a garage where ppl install this? I got a 2-car sized garage (16ft long door) with a full sized refrigerator on one side and an opposing kitchen sink (next to the water heater tank and house entry door). everything else is movable.

HIGHLY recommend you get a system that's the size you actually need. I.e. get a 4x8 instead of 4 4x2's. Was a little skeptical of Fleximount initially, but feels totally solid and no concerns. Costco version probably high quality (same rating)

I have similar one to Costco link at 600lbs rating and it feels quite sturdy. In reality, I'm not going to be lifting over my head any items heavy enough to hit 600, so the 1000lbs felt more like marketing to me. Scratch math I did was 8 bins @75lbs = 600 & I'm def loading them less than 50, plus a few things in between or hanging from bottom

More important is that you 100% get the install right or you're guaranteeing failure

Any reason why these wouldn't work outdoors under a deck?

I'm surprised this deal is this popular, I bought 2x of these for $24.99 each at Northern Tool with free shipping to home. I just installed them about 2 weeks ago, unfortunately it's temporarily unavailable right now.

If you have an open stud ceiling, can the mount bars go on top of the studs and still mount well instead of underneath?
