I'm glad the Panasonic is re-entering the American market w/ a relatively high performing high value product and pushing back into our markets aggressively to take back its position. Panasonic has long been undersood as like the Enthusiasts choice in all media up there w/ Sony, but for like the deep cuts.

Yes, hardware limitation - commonly used chip, unfortunately, they used in this and similar 144Hz TVs, so none of them can do VRR + local dimming due to the chip's issue. Search previous deal posts for this Panasonic, and you'll find full detail. About the only thing that kept me from buying one, but at $1K, do I really care if I can't do VRR on it (assuming I care more about the local dimming)?....

Oh, and no Dolby Vision either if I recall?
It does support DV, the only brand that doesnt is Samdung

Just got it, guys set it up and even let me plug it in and start it... I didnt make them wait through the whole painful login and wifi process but they seemed like they were going to stay until I said I am ok, very nice. For a 120lb TV, this was awesome. The box is as big as me and I am not small LOL, will have to leave it outside for the trial month.

Its a super large screen at 4K so the picture isnt mind blowing but it is good enough, no complaints. Looking at 4K test videos colors and blacks are as good as I have seen. Sound is actually way above average, pity since I have a sound system.

The Filmmaker mode supposed to be the best, it is a little darker than the normal and vibrant but in a dark or dim room it is still plenty bright and you can easily jack up the brightness if you want but I have not.

The Fire interface takes a little getting use to but not bad... still debating whether to get a Nvidia Shield or...

Glad I waited through the Hisense and TCL to get this... Now good for another 3+ years.

Never discard the original packaging before the 30 day customary return period. Doing that for any product is just asking for trouble.
We usually don't keep the original packaging with deluxe delivery and unpack service. If it works in the 1st day, no need to return.

We use YouTube TV and YouTube a ton. Any issues/conflicts with Fire?
don't use the built-in one, it's too slow.
