"DIY Solar Power with Will Prowse" did a tear down 4 months ago. Seemed alright... Over amp safety shutoff was an issue.

edit: On the you tubes

Can we confine all of these to one thread please? Their entire store is on sale and everyone is posting individual links

that's not how this works, you just keep clicking these links so it keeps feeding you related content...it's like yelling at the geese for swarming you after you always feed them.

Could I theoretically use this to power a detached garage? I assume it would handle a simple automatic opener and a few lights, but what about something higher draw like a drill or saw?

I always get this kinda' stupid idea of buying a setup like this for my second floor apartment in New England. I would put each of the solar panels in a closed window INSIDE the house. The efficiency would be horrible because sunlight would have to pass through the glass to reach the panel.

I only consider this because we have some of the most expensive electricity in the country, and I'm sure it will only go higher soon. It's a pretty big investment to find out that it will barely produce any savings, but I keep considering it.

Has anybody out there in Slickdeals land ever tried anything like this?

Google Gemini taught me so much about all things Solar Panel yesterday. Starts off with basics and I take notes and ask follow up questions, taking notes on the broken down info or sometimes just email it to myself then print out.

it should. it has a 2000 watt inverter. i would think your drill for sure, and probably the saw unless it draws more than that. if your battery is full, you should be able to run for awhile.

i built an almost identical system about 5 years ago and i run my 600 watt computer pc and monitor on it for hours on end even on cloudy days when the battery is not charging back up. when the power has gone, i run my fridge. and also i've run my portable stove that gets above 1500 watts to cook food on.

on a side note, this seems like a really good deal if the parts are good. when i built my system, i spent around 2000 dollars for seperate but higher quality parts.

I had the detached garage question, too. I'm also curious if a mini-split would overload it, to heat or cool it for a couple hrs prior to working
