You know it's just bagged topsoil right? I used to pick up loads right where it was bagged at farms in Iowa and Illinois. They literally pulled it right from the fields. The best soil in the world.

Can you please enlighten me with some facts? I got some M.Gro organic potting soil from Costco. Also the raised bed bags for flower beds. All i see is premix of topsoil, some decomposed mulch and some ferts. Just one thing i dont understand is how they get the very dark color on the soil.

The Miracle Gro we get at Costco is the mix with compost in it. The bags are literally warm and still composting in-bag! That might be what makes it darker.

This "in-ground" soil contains MiracleGro fertilizer pellets and manure mixed with compost, not just top soil. The other user was correct to say this will poison your soil by outcompeting natural nitrate fixers until your soil becomes sand. If you use MiracelGro the first year, it's ant-killer you'll need the next. Just get free compost from your City Municipal dump (it's free everywhere, just google it).

It's local sourced forest by-products along with other amendments like coir, peat moss. It's not topsoil from fields but a blend to add to existing soils in the ground.

I use MG garden soil as the main medium for my raised beds and grow bags. I add black cow, mushroom compost and vermiculite. Makes a great raised bed growing medium. Fox Farms is a regional company not available in most places and never seen or heard Roots orgaincs in my years working in the green industry.
