IDK, a few years back Sony used VA panels on their 85 inchers and IPS on most of their other sizes which made a big difference in PQ. Unfortunately rtings doesn't typically review larger sizes. Not sure if this is still the case but it may be something to check into. Probably have to look at a AVS forums or something.

As RyanL mentioned... there can be big differences depending on the panel type reviewed, and that is the case with Rtings' Bravia 3 review. They reviewed the 75" that has an IPS panel (low contrast / wide viewing angle) while the 85" size has a VA panel (higher contrast / narrower viewing angle). This is confirmed in the "Differences Between Sizes And Variants" section of the review. Since Rtings' review criteria favors VA panels, expect the 85" size to perform much better than their review suggests.

I saw it in costco yesterday, the demo video looks good. Is this SONY a good choice...? I saw LG QNED 86 in BB and it looks slightly better. I am with a QLED 75 TCL now. Only watch youtube netflix and use Switch on it.

I used to be in the electronic business and I advice people not to treat Rting.com as the holy bible of TV reviews but to view the TV in person.
They have a unique rating system and in the past they have given low reviews to TVs with great picture quality & contrast ratio BECAUSE of poor viewing angles, high reflection (A glossy TV screen = Better picture quality) not being suitable for gaming...etc...
